Extra Options

i've been paiting a few of these wonderful cars latley and i have noticed a few "options" would be the best way to call them. for example on the spyker is this line

GenString=221 // 1:Top=Closed/Open, 2:AIRINTAKE=YES/NO, 3:TYRE=Michelin/Dunlop

are these options we can turn on or off, or slelect a certain kind of thing.

You need to select the values you want, you can't turn them off.

Is it possible to get black rimes on the Porsche 997?
If yes, how do I get them?

Is it , that i have the choice in between for "closed/open" , and i leave "open " on the line for example .The same for the oders "AIRINTAKE" i leave "yes" and TYRE i leave "michelin" if i want michelin tyre?

regarding the possibility to modify few things on cars with the Gestring values , here is my question .

On the aston there is 6 numbers , the first number is to change the wheel. Or BBS or dark OZ .

In the folder of the spyder evo you can add a .dds call "RSSpyderEvo_100088BBSRIMS" , wich will define the wheels as you wish......Because you add the template.

I´ve tried it on the Aston , but it does´nt work , i only can work on the first number in the Gestring 1 or 2.

Is it normal ?

Yes. In fact the genstring number does not make all. The genstring only manage the 3D choices of extra parts.

For the 2D choice there is a line that define the name that you need to save your dds file in order to be used by the game. In the .veh under the line DefaultLivery, you will find for exemple :

WCEXTR0="OZRIMS".

This means that if you want to use custom version of rims texture, you need to call it xxxxxOZRIMS.dds.

this value in the "" is not standard so may change between cars, so if you want custom BBS rims on the aston, open the .veh file of your folder, and look at the values noted inside.

I have create, with my own color design of the wheels, a .dds file with this name : AstonMartin_081088BBSRIMS.dds that i ve haded to my folder team , where you find all the oder .dds (windscreen,windows,DRIVER etc) , but it does´nt work .

What am i missing?

You need to call it "AstonMartin_081088WHEEL.dds"

4 months ago i did´nt know anything about SimRacing, G27,even that rFactor was a simracing game and all this parrallel world , leagues , championship etc.

For the Spyker Wheel type , this is what we´ve got in the .veh :
DefaultLivery="SpykerC8_071085.dds"
Extra0="EXTRA"
Extra1="WINDSCREEN"
Extra2="BACKWINDOW"
Extra5="BBS"

So that means i have to create "SpykerC8_071085BBS.DDS" , for the wheels to be a "BBS" ?

But it doesn´t work , i have the color wanted , but the wheel keep being an OZ.



My .dds BBS is a BBS design wheel .

What am i missing this time ?

The genstring number. You need to setup both genstring for 3D and dds name for 2D.

Nothing for the wheels . So maybe it´s not possible on the Spyker ?

There are no BBS rims on the Spyker.

needs to be :

Porsche997_071088BBS2.dds for front.
Porsche997_071088BBS.dds for rear.

Carefull it's not exactly the same rims textures for front and rear (there is an offset on rear rims).
