| Hello! I've been trying for awhile now to figure out how to do this. Research/Google isn't helping me much.
What I'd like to do is edit the headlight file to include part of my skin. I've downloaded 3DSimED and the most recent version of 3DS MAX just for this. However, I have no idea which file(s) I'm supposed to edit, and how to go about editing these.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

| Can't I simply tell rFactor that a certain part of the car is a headlight? I know that it's possible, there's an Aston Lola mod that does it with the numbers. | |

I know that it's possible, there's an Aston Lola mod that does it with the numbers. You can do it with adding new 3d parts, make mapping, textures and material for them, and adapt on the existing model. It will be very complicated to achive a good result (a plate is easy, a skin more complicated). In addition that means all the cars of the same model will shine the same way, even if the skin is different. So to sum up, it does not worth it.

So to sum up, it does not worth it. Can you at least give me a tutorial or something on how I might go about doing that when you get the spare time? Please. :D Sorry, I just want to give it a try. I need a bit of a long term project anyways. Maybe not an entire skin. But a few logos instead. Couldn't I assign this file to just one of the cars?
