Manual Blipping on downshift

First of all thank you for a great mod, great to look at great to drive. I drive the Porsche 997.

The important question, should you manually blip the throttle while downshifting? It is recommended in the manual but most drivers I see are clearly not blipping the throttle. I am able to do it and I find it helps in the faster 3-4 gear corners, but I wonder if I would be faster by not blipping in the 1-2 gear corners? why blipping is recommended and will it improve braking or speed?

If you dont blip on downshift you have a high risk of locking up the transmission and spinning out.

Great to have a swift response. I see it the same way but if I shift at the right points then I can still brake comfortably without blipping. Maybe the auto clutch helps smooth this. I am most interested in which way is the fastest.

I do both. The shorter, higher gears witout blipping to use all the enginebreak and 3-2 and 2-1 with a lil smooth blipping to sync the gears.

I think there is a bit of intuition that comes into play. It is something you can learn and comes to you naturally with practice. At some point you will learn how to downshift swiftly through the gears and match the rev without locking the transmission and hurting the engine. And at the same time you will learn to blip without locking up the transmission. I think that blipping is most important when downshifting slowly. In my opinion it also depends on on the gear ratios and the conditions of the track or a particular corner if you have to blip or not.
